Anita Ekberg

Anita Ekberg was a Swedish actress who starred in a variety of European and American films. Most famously, she is known for her part in the comedy-drama film "La Dolce Via". It won an Oscar and a Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 1960, it was also a commercial and critical success. The actress was born in Skane where she worked as an actress before beginning her acting career. Eventually, she won the Miss Sweden Contest. Then she moved to the US and started to be seen in multiple movies playing minor roles. She played the Venusian Guard in 'Abbott & Costello's Journey to Mars.' This was her debut credit part. In the following year, she won the Golden Globe award in the 'Most Promising Newcomer', category after appearing in the film 'Bloodalley'. Her appearances in other films over the course of her career. This includes the American-Italian War Drama 'War and Peace', The Western production "Valerie" as well as the British Adventure Crime Film 'The Man Inside,' and"The Dam On The Yellow River," the French and Italian thriller The Dam on the Yellow River.
